I created a poster and social media posts for Paw Pals therapy dogs event that takes place at Rochester Institute of Technology. Therapy dogs help students reduce their blood pressure and stress levels. I wanted to capture the playfulness of dogs and the stress relief benefits in my poster and social media content. I was inspired by my 4 year old Westie named Luna and my love for 1950's midcentury modern design.

While creating my poster, I tried out many different color combinations. I wanted the poster to be eye catching but still feel vintage. I added grain to give the poster visual texture. I ultimately decided on the orange and grey poster concept because of my client. Rochester Institute of Technology's brand colors include orange, black, white, a couple grays, and other accent colors. I used their exact cmyk codes from their branding portal to create a poster within the brand guidelines. For the tag line, I wanted a hook to draw people in to read the content of the poster but fit the aesthetic. I researched phrases used in the 50s and 60s. Mellow out stood out to me because therapy dogs relieve stress. The typeface Psychoart fit with the vibe and paired well with Helvetica Neue.
